R.E.
At Holy Trinity we are passionate and enthusiastic about the teaching of RE, giving it a high priority in our weekly timetable.
We follow the Southwark Diocesan Board schemes of work which cover aspects of Christianity and five major world faiths – Judaism, Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism and Buddhism. Many of the topics are in the form of a question which our children explore throughout the sequence of lessons. Years 1-6 will study four units of Christianity and two units of other faiths each school year whilst EYFS study six units of Christianity.
Religious Education
RE lessons at Holy Trinity are engaging and creative. We ensure that pupils participate in drama, dance, art and music to support their learning. We encourage classes to visit places of worship to support the unit of work they are studying or to invite visitors into school to talk. We also try to link our RE teaching with Collective Worship where possible.
